My stylist always use the red rods around my forehead to give my hair that neat/polished look and I just started using the reds in the crown area, which is the kinkiests/nappiest part of my hair. For tighter/neater styles, I like the blue rods. Here’s a link to some YouTube videos, which give you great instructions on how to use the rods.įor bigger/fuller/free-flowing styles, I like to use the orange and grey rods. If you plan on using these puppies on a weekly or daily basis, take it from me and just get the ones from Sally’s. Super Rollers go for about $8 per pack, but that can vary depending on what city you’re in or whether you have a discount card or coupon at Sally’s. You can also find flexi rods at your local beauty supply stores, but these cheap imposters don’t last long and will lose their strength and flexibility after prolonged use. I agree with Kai 100%, the best flexi rods are the Super Rollers by Hair Art sold at Sally’s Beauty Supply. I will say Kinky Curly does give me a nice wave pattern around my edges, but that’s pretty much it. It gives me nice springy curls, which is great because my hair doesn’t have much curl definition and doesn’t get major results with products like Miss Jessie’s or Kinky Curly. Many of you saw my post from last week titled Who Says Natural Hair Isn’t Versatile?, but you can tell my by looking at pictures of me from being out and about that the flexi rod set is my signature style. I just checked out my girl Kai’s blog over at ManeandChic and saw that Sally’s is having a one day sale on flexi rods.
